PBS show on Narcolepsy

Just finished filming and interviewing for a television show on Narcolepsy. It will air in August on PBS stations. It was alot of work for everybody involved, but I think it all went well. I am anxious to see the end result. Stayed tuned for exact days and times.

This week Ill be playing in Lake Geneva, WI on the Futures tour. We are playing at a fantastic resort. I have been so impressed with the Futures tour this year. The tour has come a long way over the years Ive been playing. Better golf courses, amazing competition, very professional leadership...Other than the purses are ridiculously small and high entry fees, I have no complaints.

Futures or LPGA

Last Monday I was third alternate for the LPGA in Clifton, NJ.  Having already made plans to play in the Futures Tour event the same week in Kansas City, I was not sure if I should travel to NJ. After long contemplation, I chose to take my name off the LPGA list and play in Kansas City.  Since I know I am in LPGA event in Corning, NY next week, I thought my best preparation would be the Futures tour.  Besides I had already forked out $1000 for the Futures event and going to Clifton, NJ would have cost be another $2000.  This conditional playing status is for the birds.  I don't know my schedule until the last minute, I am missing out on the additional money making outings on Mondays (because I am trying to Monday qualify).  Its crazy.  Anyway, things are looking up so keep watching.

Good News

Finally some good news.  Shot 73 at Salisbury C.C. in North Carolina to qualify for the second stage of US Open qualifying.  My next qualifier will be in Chicago in a few weeks at Village Links of Glen Ellyn.  It is just down the road from my sisters house.  I've taken my nephew, Jack there to hit balls and putt.  Jack is 3 and hit his first real golf ball when he was 2.  In fact he hit a large bucket of balls, all of them, when he was 2, at this golf course I am going to qualify for the Open.  Good memories again.  That always help me play well.

Hello Everyone!

Finally got in an LPGA tournament and needless to say I did not take advantage of the situation. I am finding the transition from Jody to another caddy very difficult. Jody has been caddying for me for nearly 3 years. Not only is he the best caddy on the LPGA but he knows me andmy game so well that I learned to rely on him for everything. So far I have been "uncomfortable"with other people on my bag. Ill work on it and get back to yall soon. On a good note, our relationship has been great since he is cadddying for other girls.

On Monday, I will play in the regional qualifier for the US Open in Salasbury, NC. I have good memories in Salisbury from a Futures tour event in 1993 (oh Im getting old) I remember playing good and having my dear friend and old sponsor, Earle Murphy, watch me play. I wish he was still alive. He had a positive spin off of everything, and I was always encouraged by him. Earle was a great man and I miss him.

For my Naroleptic fans. Recently there was a health watch on WGN, and they talked about Narcolpsy. They happen to use me in the filming, which is always exciting for me. Go to http://media.vmsnews.com/MR.pl?id=042407-713072-F001010810 to see it.
